Sanaatana Saaradaa~25. Dynamics of Divine Exploits~3.

This episode is one among the  foremost Exploits of Sri Krishna as this illustrates the unity between the most abstract Ultimate Truth called the Brahman (Who is without any name, form and qualities), and the  most tangible and perceivable Ultimate Godhead called Sri Krishna (Who has name, form, qualities and exploits).

Again, this is from Bhaagavata, Skandha-X, and Chapter-13. This Chapter depicts

Brahmanaa sapaala, vatsa brinda haranam

which means, “(the trickery of) hiding the calves(of the cows) along with their cowherd-boys by Brahma (the creator)“.

Once, Brahma, having watched the stupendous Exploit of Aghaasura uddhararanam by Sri Krishna, wishes to test the potential power of Sri Krishna in His ability to surpass the maya-component as employed by him while creating this universe. So, he takes away the calves as well as the companion-cowherd-boys,  and hides them all in a secret place. Five-to-six-years-old Sri Krishna senses not only the material facts of this incident but also the details of the design and the intent of the trickster, Brahma. In order to delight him and the mothers of the missing boys and calves alike, Sri Krishna, the Creator of the universe and Supreme Godhead, assumes the forms of all the boys and calves, both, for exactly one full year. During this period, the cows as well as the mothers of Sri Krishna’s companions, enjoy the unique bliss of extending the maternal love towards Him and receiving the Divine-filial fondness from Him too.

After the completion of one year, Brahma, to his amazement, finds the boys and the calves who are secretly hidden by him, are perfectly in tact while there is an exactly another living band of boys and calves in Vrajadhaama, along with Sri Krishna, immaculately resembling those who are hidden by him, in each and every minutest detail. Brahma gets confused as to which group of boys and calves is real, whether the hidden one under his control or the One in Vrajadhaama. Hence he descends to Vrajadhaama and finds, to his utter astonishment, that every calf or every boy, in every part and in totality, is filled with the Divine Presence of Lord Sri Maha Vishnu in His entire Glory! Then, Brahma realises that his maya-sakti is humbled by Sri Krishna’s all-encompassing  Vaishnava Maya.

Here, the basic point to be understood in this context is that Brahma-maya is subservient to Vishnu-maya. Brahma-maya is operationally  limited by the boundaries of space-time-karma-components, whereas Krishna-maya can go beyond all such frontiers and can engulf all other mayas completely, under the commands of Sri Krishna.

With this item, we come to the conclusion of “Dynamics of Divine Exploits”.

Excellent episode to establish Vishnu Maya. The best part of the episode is that all mothers of Krishna’s companions in Vrajadhama to have the opportunity to extend their maternal love towards Krishnayya.
