Sanaatana Saaradaa~22 – Dynamics of Divine Qualities~3.
In this concluding part of the Dynamics of the Divine Qualities, let us take up a verse from the Bhaagavata Mahaa Puraana, from the Skandha~X, Adhyaaya~31, verse~18, and do our best to contemplate upon the burden of the text so that we will be able to understand the vital theme of the Divine Qualities to a purposive end.
The Skandha-X is said to be the heart of the Bhaagavata, while Raasa Panchaadhyaayi, is the heart of Skandha-X, and, further the Adhyaaya-31, called “Gopee Geetam”, or the “Gopikaa Geetam”, is the heart of Raasa Panchaadhyaayi. In this Chapter of “Gopikaa Geetam” there are 19 verses, which are all together sparkling jewels. (Of course, I personally consider the nineteenth verse as the crest-jewel).
Here is the verse number-18.
“Vrajavanaukasaam vyaktiranga te
Vrijinahamtryalam visvamangalam |
Tyaja manaak cha nah tvatsprihaatmanaam
Svajanahridrujaam yat nishoodanam” ||
Here we have to know the context. The darling of all the Gopikaas, Sri Krishna, invites them to participate in the Raasa kreeda, scheduled by Him in a bright moon-lit autumnal full moon night. There, He bestows upon them all, the exclusive grace of His Divine Leela. This Bhaagavata event can be likened to the unique “Kalpataru Day” divine experience bestowed by Avataara varishtha, Sri RamaKrishna Paramahamsa Gurudeva of our age upon many of His house-holder devotees. After some time, the Gopikaas begin to toy with the fancy of being far superior to all the other woman-folks, who failed to earn that unique joy of becoming the intimate companions of Sri Krishna. Having sensed this mental deficiency in their character which defiles their spiritual purity, SriKrishna disappears from the scene in order to help them make amends for their folly. At this point, the Gopikaas start repenting for their flaws while extolling the glorious qualities of their Beloved Boy of about seven years of age.
This is one of the many important verses, sung by them in that context. Its gist is here under:
“O Dear! You assumed this Incarnation in order to dispel the woes of the residents of the land of the Vraja as well as the forest-recluses. Further, Your manifestation accords immense welfare to the entire universe. We enshrine You in our hearts as our most Beloved Lord. So we ever belong to You only. Please grant us, the magic potion, at least in a small dose, that heals all the ills of our minds totally.”
In Bhaagavata, gopikaas enjoy a unique privilege of intimacy with the Lord through their absolute love for Him and by His unqualified Grace upon them. This sublime relationship is beyond the scope of all known and established mere social conventions and codes of conduct prescribed for those who fail to tread on the path of absolute devotion.
These are some of fully efficacious Qualities of the Lord that can play a pivotal role in ameliorating the lot of the life of an ardent devotee.
With this we conclude this sub-series, and enter into the precincts of the last of our topics which is: “Dynamics of Divine Exploits” in our next spiritual sojourn.

This one is really great. I would urge you to translate the same into Telugu and upload for a better understanding of poor literates like me.
The verse taken from the Bhagavatha to explain the Dynamics of the Divine Qualities is very
interesting. Really Gopikaa Geetam at the moment
of Lord’s disappearance is a wonderful chapter.
Your write-up made it so colourful.
Comparing this event with the ‘Kalpatharu Day’ of
Gurumaharaj has been done aptly.
