Sanaatana Saaradaa~19 – Dynamics of Divine Form~4.

Now, in every spiritual seeker’s day-to-day life, one has to realise the ineluctable active role of self-imposition and self-prohibition on what to and what not to hear, touch, see, taste and smell, the only windows through which the utterly ignorant and equally adamant mind pants and pines for all disgraceful and degrading worldly enticements and allures, if it is left untrained in devotion.

That is why, in his great & grand “MUKUNDA MAALAA STOTRAM“, in verse-20, Sri Kulasekhara Aalwaar, obviously commands all his senses with sublime intelligence, as under :—

Jihwe! keertaya Kesavam,
Mura ripum cheto! bhaja, Sreedharam

Paani dwandwa samarchayaachyuta kathaah
srotradwaya, twam srunu |

Krishnam lokaya lochana dwaya, Hareh! gachchaanghri
yugmaalayam

Jighra, ghraana! Mukunda paada tulaseem, moordhan!
namaadhokshajam” ||

Here is the free rendering of the verse into informal English prose.

O (my dear) tongue! You (please) sing the songs of praise of Lord Kesava. O mind! enjoy, lovingly worshipping the Foe of the demon, Mura. O (my) couple of palms! You perform devotional service to Sreedhara. O twin ears! You listen to the stories of Achyuta. O twin eyes! You keep on beholding Krishna. O (my) both feet! keep visiting the temple of SriHari. O nose! grasp the perfume of the Tulasi which is on the feet of Mukunda. O (my) head! You submit prostrations to Adhokshaja“.

A verse on Lord Siva also is available which is as under :–

Chetah! chintaya Sankaram,
japa Sivam jihwe! namesam siro!

Netra dwandwa! Haram vilokaya, Mridam srotra dwaya!
twam srunu |

Jighra ghraana! SadaaSivaanghri vilasat bilwa
chchadaananvaham

Hastaambhoruha! bilva komala
dalaih Sambhum samabhyarchaya” ||

With this we come to the conclusion of “Dynamics of Divine Form”. In the next part we take up “Dynamics of Divine Qualities” for our discussion.

    To train the mind in complete devotion can otherwise be called as Sadhana. The role of our Jnanendriyaas in attaining it has been well explained by quoting “Mukunda maala Stotram” and a verse on Siva.
