The Edifying Efficacy of Saatvic Energy in the Lives of the Seekers of Spirituality.
We are well aware that our subtle body which is composed of the four-fold tools namely, mind(manas), intellect(buddhi), ego(ahamkaara) and memory-chamber(chittam), as propounded in Advaitic Philosophy. The Bhaagavata Mahaa Puraana clarifies that our intellect is constituted with the three fundamental qualities. They are the Saatvic, the Raajasic and the Taamasic ones.
The qualities of truthfulness, non-violence, celibacy, rectitude, humility, cheerfulness, transparency in character, purity in every way of life are some chief items of Satva guna.
Enormous self-aggressiveness and self-assertiveness (jeeva ahamkaara as pointed out by Parama Saadhvi Rabia – the Sufi-Saint) and other such allied qualities are of Rajoguna.
Continual sleepiness, reluctance to follow orderly & disciplined life, laziness, habitual procrastination, sense of attachment to all sorts of worldly pleasures & pursuits, greediness & many such tendencies are of Tamoguna.
These Raajasic & Taamasic gunas have to be actively diluted slowly, by improving the share of Satvaguna in the inner world of the Saadhaka, in our parlance a devotee of one’s own Deity. At some advanced stage, the devotee will be able to gradually replace all her/ his raajasic & taamasic tendencies by purely saatvic ones. The raajasik tendency of my wife/my husband, my house, my name & fame & so on
will be ultimately replaced by my Deity, my pooja, my japa, my saadhana & so on. The taamasic tendency of intense worldly desires will be substituted by the intense saatvic desire of doing devotional practices unremittingly by ignoring one’s own physical health, fitness & so on.
Finally, the devotee’s only companion in performing effectively one’s worship of the Deity is her/his satvaguna itself. Satva is such supreme companion that it disappears fully on its own when the devotee receives the absolute grace of the Deity.

one should always try to keep his intellect(Buddhi)in Sattvic state. Then only the qualities such as ‘Dharma’ ‘ Vairagya’and ‘Santha’ will be acquired by saadhaka.
In order to achieve Sattvic state Indriya nigraha(restraint of senses ) mitaaharam and satsang will certainly help
