The Everlasting Splendours of Sanaatana Saaradaa —3.

Having gone through some oral and written doubts expressed by a few ardent spiritual seekers, the domain of Naada which includes (1) Mantra Sastra and (2) Sangita Sastra is being explored further.

We could see in our last-week write-up the mystical definition of Naada. The mystical signification of “Na” & “Da” is understood under the light of the most profound experiences & realisations of our highly
revered ancient sages which are codified as Sastras for the benefit of their posterity. Here, we should be endowed with adequate clarity and enough competence to comprehend, at least to some
justifiable degree, the sublimity and the grandeur of the quality of the excellence our ancient sages attained in this field. There are two fundamental aspects we are not expected miss regarding these great
sages. One aspect is that spirituality is a whole-time fully dedicated endeavour for them. The other one is that they always remained in forest-dwellings only. The all-time great sages, if at all they entered into cities/towns/villages on any inevitable obligation, did so & as immediately as possible, they returned to their forest-huts. They enjoyed the immense impact of sacred vibrations generated by the natural forest-environment which is inherently enriched with the pristine purity of the ultimate divinity. So, naturally the results obtained by them in the subjective spiritual laboratories  of their salutary, secluded and sacred lives are immaculate forever to guide us all on right path in our spiritual expeditions.

Now let us objectively evaluate our status to express any personal or individual opinions on spirituality.

1. All our spiritual practices, if at all they are there, they are founded on only part-time endeavours.
2. We can not dedicate all our focus and energies to spirituality as we have a very long list of priorities in our life in which it may find a remote place. It obviously makes us to spend  the best quality of our focus & energy on first, second & other priority items leaving least focus & energy for pursuing spirituality.
3. Our life is incessantly exposed & inescapably influenced by the easily corruptible secularly oriented cities/towns/villages.
4. Even right from our birth we are constantly being trained to acquire all worldly knowledge in the name of education ignoring all fundamental ethical and spiritual values whether ancient or modern. There are umpteen number of other factors which harden or even tend to spoil our inner sensitive texture of the best of human virtues.

With such a back ground we doubt or disapprove of or disparage or even discard the immaculate spiritual acquisitions and metaphysical excellence and mystical wealth of our ancestral sages. The entire literature of the science of mysticism is being perpetually tried, tested and validated by innumerable people through countless generations belonging to various ages or yugas of different climes and times.

St. Tyagaraja is a renowned  Naadayogi, apart from being a Mantrayogi.  Syaamaasastry and Deekshitar are Mantra yogis apart from being Naadayogis. Sir John Woodroff is a great mystic who wrote several standard books in English on Mantra Saastra through his esoteric experiences. In addition to these, there are several examples in which many individual seekers are benifited through Mantra saadhana. There are many books by great stalwarts such as Sri Chandrasekharasaraswati swamy, Brahmasri Eeswara Satyanarayanasarma, Brahmasri Taadepally Raaghavanaarayana sastry, Sri P.S.Sastry and so on and so forth.
